Teaching Professors

Teaching professors play a vital role in shaping the student experience through a deep commitment to education, mentorship and instructional excellence. With teaching as their primary mission, they help foster curiosity, critical thinking and a passion for lifelong learning among students. The impact of teaching professors extends far beyond the classroom—through student outcomes, curriculum development and contributions to a vibrant, student-centered academic community.

The Office of Faculty Affairs provides targeted workshops designed to guide teaching professors through the academic year. The office also offers resources on the reappointment process and  hosts casual get-togethers that allow teaching professors to connect with other faculty members navigating similar roles, opportunities and challenges.
