SENSES Summer

SENSES Summer is a mandatory, six-week summer bridge initiative for all full-time students enrolled in the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP). The on-campus program allows pre-matriculated students to earn academic credits while adjusting to campus life and forming a sense of community.

Benefits

  • Earn credits: Students earn 7-to-8 course credits that count toward their degree. This allows them to get an early start on their academic career, develop healthy study habits and build confidence.
  • Access campus resources: Students have access to a variety of campus resources, including HEOP’s The SENSES Project, a student-focused music lab that utilizes music production, DJing and podcasting to create community and a sense of belonging.
  • Delve into important topics: Workshops and weekly seminars addressing issues like student success, communication and self-advocacy help students thrive academically, socially and professionally.

At the completion of SENSES Summer, students will begin the fall semester a few steps ahead academically and feel prepared, confident and energized to conquer the rest of their academic career.

Important Dates

The first day of classes for the 2026 SENSES Summer program is Monday, June 29.
