Syracuse University may employ non-immigrants as faculty members, post-doctoral fellows or scholars, or library or other specialists if the proper non-immigrant status is obtained. Eligibility determination and assistance with documentation will be handled by the Office of the Provost in consultation with the Office of University Counsel, where appropriate
An individual employee may not initiate an immigration application based on employment at Syracuse University, or hire a lawyer to do so, without permission from the University.
Any request for employment-based legal permanent resident status (LPR) must come from the school/college or department in consultation with the Office of the Provost.
